Looking for pros and cons and general information about PCV Valve on my 2006 with 144k I am sure my PCV has never been changed. Is there a search place here on Priuschat to find out?
Great photo's and directions. From what I have read it is import to change the PCV valve at least every 60 k, is that your opinion too Patrick? Thanks, Joe
Hi Joe, I would actually say that 100K mile intervals would be sufficient. Also note that you may not need to actually remove the cowl tray to gain access to the PCV valve. First, try removing the wire harness over the engine valve cover so you can see the PCV valve and hose. Then you can decide whether you can access the PCV valve with your tools, or whether you need to remove the cowl tray to improve your access. Here is another perspective on this subject: How to Replace Gen II Prius Spark Plugs and PCV Valve | PriusChat
Was told by dealer today that my PCV may be more accessible than some of the newer models, hope so. I don't plan to remove the cowl, Plan to replace this weekend. I bought a PCV valve from dealer for 14.00, am I a sucker or what. Could it be just a little better quality than one from parts stores?
