OK, I've read the manual and must be missing something. I have an '06 with navigation and am trying to remove the POIs for restaurants and hospitals so I can provide other voice commands to the Navi. My screen says I must remove current POIs to give additional commands, but I can't find a screen to do that with. What am I missing here? Pressing the delete POIs doesn't eliminate the symbols. Does anyone have a simple set of instructions for the NAV system like a "Navigation System for Dummy's" book? I sure need one as I have a very expensive tool that I can't seem to master very well. Thanks.
Go to Voice mode and say "hide all icons". I don't know for sure if that's what you need...thinking so. That's what I know for now. Hope that helps, Aaron
You should have a separate manual for the NAV system (I got one for my 2005). Mine's out in the Prius, but it does have something on that. As have the voice activation, you should be able to just press the button and say, "P-O-I off." Say POI as three letters, otherwise it'll add Hawaiian restaurants. Oh, so it's "Hide all icons" for the 2006? Live and learn.
From the map screen, press the "map view" icon/button at the bottom. On the screen taht pops up, press the "display POI" icon. This will bring up a list of POI's (like restaurants, gas, etc). the ones that are currently being displayed will be highlighted. Simple pressing on the highleded ones will deselect them (in otherwords, ignore the "delete" button at the top). I probably would have been confused too if the guy at the dealer didn't show me this when i got the car!
