Been on here lurking about for a week so I figured I'd say hello to everyone.:D

Here's my story of how I came to be a Prius C owner. Had trucks all my life, got a 2000 Tacoma as my first vehicle and after graduating college bought a new 2012 Taco to mod as an off road monster. After almost 2 years, I am glad to say mission complete, on the build. Had tons of fun with the truck and met a bunch of lifelong friends through another forum site called TacomaWorld.com.

But enough with the Taco, and on to the Prius C (or as my friends and I call it the Prius Cool). So initially I had been interested in getting a car with better MPG. Having trucks my whole life transportation was always really expensive and the thought of a vehicle that got 50+ MPG was something that as a truck owner was just a fairytale. Well, getting my 2013 year end summary for my credit card with my itemized list of fuel costs ($4,000+), I decided to make the dream a reality. My goal was to get a car the got ridiculously great gas mileage, pay off the $11,000 lean on my truck and not sacrifice on features or looks and ending up driving something ridiculous like a Scion iQ or Smart Car (I'm 6'1" clown cars ain't my thing). My friend had recently gotten a Lexus CT200H and I had gotten to drive around in it a few times and really liked the hatchback and really really like the MPG he had shown me he was getting. So the search was on I had looked at the CT200h's but since I didn't want a car payment those were out. The next logical option was Toyota Prius C. So I started looking and found a few that were in my area, I first test drove a C3 and something about it left me wanting more. So I did some more research and found a C4 that was priced at a RIDICULOUSLY good price and it was only 6 miles away from my house at a local dealer AND it was a certified car (the C3 wasn't which I found out without the certification there's really no warranty on the car  NOT OK!). After a test drive in the C4, and having been in my friends CT200h previously, the C4 was as close as it comes to that car without the hefty sticker. The C4 had the moonroof, the SoftTex (leatherish kind of material) heated seats , NAV, bluetooth, fog lights, and the sweet smart key and push to start (I always wanted that in my Taco). I was SOLD, now it was time for the negotiations to being. After 3 rounds in the ring with the dealer (I left 2 times because we couldn't make a deal that fit for me), we finally had a number that I was happy with $19793 (the car had 14K on it, still pretty new in my opinion). Being that I had stripped my truck of all the aftermarket parts and made back $5,200, Prius COOL it was and on 2/14 I traded in the Taco for $2600 I bought the armadillo! No car payment and AMAZING MPG, Mission Accomplished!!

Congrats, I love black cars. I'm just done with them myself, too much work as I'm a bit lazy on the cleaning.

I like that "Cool" descriptor, I'm gonna have to use that . (y)

Nice Taco as well, I had some older Toyota 4x4 and 4x2's (before the whole Tacoma/Tundra came about) as well as my most recent truck, a 2012 Tundra Rock Warrior... didn't offroad my trucks, only my Jeeps...

I too traded my 2012 taco for a C4-straight trade, no cash. Couldn't be happier.

I still have my 2006 Tacoma Prerunner and use it when I need a truck... all regular commuting now happens in the prius C. I also got a 4 with moonroof, softex, and fog lamps.
