I 'm a bit confused re: lights on my 2013 Prius v Model2. First, the control stalk diagrams in the manual do not match my car... No auto setting available at all. No Daytime running lights.... bummer. No I leave headlights on... with 30 second off timer. BUT today I noticed the lower lights are not on? I was parked facing a window that gave a reflection... I went thru all the settings and never got the lower lights to come on? Read an old post that suggested they might only come on in gear? That makes zero sense to me... Am I missing something here?
Auto headlights are for the Five with LED headlights. For 2012 and 2013 only Canadian Prius had DRLs. Prius v's (lowercase v for Prius v, not uppercase) for 2014 in the US now have DRLs.
'13 model v's have no DRLs, the light stalk varies depending on the model. There are no "lower lights" on the front, just the headlights and the small running lights right above the headlights. Any settings you might have for the headlights auto-off will be in the setup screens.
So the 'sliver' things below headlights are not lights on my model2 ??? Been so cold I haven't looked closely but they sure looked like lights. Maybe turn signals?
Turn signals... that makes more sense. They were just so forward looking I thought they were lights. 30 second auto off works well at night... but does look silly during the day if I forget to lock from key fob.My last 3 cars have been GM productsthus day time running lights and "AUTO" settings are the norm for me.Still getting use to the Prius culture.... dead silence at stop lights can still spook me!
