^ What size are you? If 195/65R15, consider the Ecopia EP20 as well. The EP422 comes in a wide range of sizes, and is pricier I think. EP20 is available in 195/65R15, and few (if any) other sizes. But a good LRR option.

I agree with the previous poster on the safety issue. The MXV4 will greatly improve all aspects with a slight penalty in mileage. The Ecotopia 20 will be replaced with MXv4 soon on my 2010. While I've achieved 45k on the tires with about 30% tread still remaining, the tire is noisy on all but asphalt, slides around too much in wet and light snow. I get with LRR tires you make trade offs and tire characteristics are all traded for one another. Perhaps if only on paved asphalt and summer season LRR would be fine for me.

I just purchased P4 Pirelli for 74.88 a piece then they took off the current manufacturer incentive of $70. Saved me $200 over the mxv4 so I could not pass it up. I'll report back p4 impressions. These were one time buys at SAMs so a really good deal. So $230+60 for lifetime balance rotate and road hazard. $290 for 65k tires but I expect a 4 mpg hit and a quieter, grip pier ride. Highly rated by consumer reports So we'll see.

No not Consumer Reports! Hope you like them, Consumer Reports information is not something I would put much weight on.

Drove on the P4s in two inches of snow. Incredible traction vs the OEM ecopia 20s with half tread gone. Really happy thus far. [IMG]

Notice the wheels with hubcaps removed and center caps installed.

A friend bought 4 Pure Contacts for his 2010 Prius this last fall. I've shared the driving duty in this car several times over a 50 mile route to our "local" ski area. At first, during tire "break in" I was concerned about the mpg hit. After a few hundred miles, the Pure Contacts allowed mpg to go back to the same levels achieved with the thoroughly worn out OEM Yokohama Avids that they replaced.

The Continental Pure Contacts are quiet, very calm and smooth rolling on the road. His Prius drives very well with this tire and I felt no tendency for the car to wander in straight portions of road. Does well on curves, takes a good set on a turn and doesn't need constant correction, even on our sometimes lumpy road surfaces. That's a good thing.

Snow grip is very good for an all season tire, but of course not quite as good as a dedicated snow tire would be. That said, I would not hesitate to use these tires in Winter if driven sensibly... and I've been a dedicated snow tire person for a long time. I have to admit that I was quite impressed by this tire while driving in snow and wet conditions.

Definitely will be up at the top of the list when the time comes to put new tires on our Prius. I'd have to say the Pure Contacts are a real all season tire.

i live in SoCal so i might never see snow... I do think if i used it for snow i would get a 17" rim and throw some PureContacts on... It barely rains here in LA so the Ecopia422 should suffice. If i don't like them i can have costco take them off and i order the Pure Contacts from Tirerack. Just don't want to get the hit for mileage over the LLR Ecops

i just put the Bridgestone Ecopia 422 on today. It is a descent improvement in all respects compared to the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. I only had the Fuel Max inflated to the recommended 35-36 PSI f/r. Overall the Ecopia 422 handle better, ride smoother and feel much more intact while driving. I also feel that they roll better. i was running at 35psi and they were quiet and a very nice ride. 20% improvement plus over the Fuel Max. I have now inflated the tires to 40/38 and they are firmer, not as cushy, but after 100 miles on the car from driving around on the freeway and on city streets they are just short of wonderful. Perhaps the Fuel Max were just not that over the top. if i were to give the tires a report card they would be a E422 87% (B+) and the Fuel Max @ 71% (C-).

Tomorrow I will drive around 250 miles highway/city so i will see if my opinion changes regarding the Ecopia 422. Wear I determined the Fuel Max after 2,500 miles wore 1/32" of an inch, just not that good.

So I've put 4200 miles on the P4's. Still happy for price I paid and good traction but I'd go with MXV4's next time due to tread noise on highway. I still am averaging 47.8 on display and I drive fairly aggressively.
