Has anyone received a CA Green HOV Sticker yet?

Mine came in today. # is in the low 32xxx's

Guess they aren't being issued totally in order since there was a post yesterday saying someone received one in the 33xxx's

By looking at the decal certificate, I can see how my dealer already had HOV sticker for my PIP on January 8th(registered). I see dealers name under registered owner. I bought this car on January 19th. Any way. Now I gotta figure out the best position to apply. I don't Understand why people say it's ugly when they apply is so carelessly.

Mine took 3 business weeks from mailed the app to received the stickers. There was a holiday in there, so 3 weeks +1 day on the calendar. It should take 2 weeks if the dealer uses the DMV system. EH32xxx.

 

so far its been two weeks and a few days since they received my application in the mail (feb.4). i still have nothing. i'm hoping it only takes about 3 weeks.

any where or any chance of being able to check the status of your application being processed?

 

You might look for your check being cashed (which is a sign your application hasn't been rejected). In my case the check was cashed the day before the stickers arrived. The last time I applied for stickers I sent a cashier's check, unsure if that made the process any faster.

For new buyers, I would insist your dealer has the stickers at delivery. DMV promises them two weeks from application to stickers in hand.

 

Another data point:

I bought the PiP end of December, applied for the stickers 1/30 when the plates came, check was cashed 2/20 and sticker #32,8xx arrived 2/21.

You can check your application status by calling 916-657-8035. The wait is usually just a couple minutes and you have to provide your plate number.

 

This gets you directly to the small group (maybe one person?) at the DMV who handles the HOV decals.

 

There's been a new PiP in the parking lot at my office the past few weeks, looks like it finally got the stickers late last week (either 2/21 or 2/22): #32,9xx

 

I personally called them probably half a dozen times when I was waiting, I don't believe I ever spoke to the same person once. And most of them were pretty nice, something you wouldn't expect from govt' workers(especially DMV workers).

 

On a different note, I used my HOV privilege for the first time today in the fastrak lane on the 10 freeway. So fast!!!
Cut my commute by at least 25 min.

"Effective February 24, 2014, vehicles displaying a DMV issued White or Green Clean Air Vehicle Decal will be toll-free. All vehicles, including Clean Air Vehicles are required to have a FasTrak® transponder while travelling on the ExpressLanes. To obtain your toll-free trip, set your transponder to switch position 3 (3+ person carpool) prior to starting your trip. I wanted to post a thread about this but I always forget.

My coworker said he found out from someone that green stickers can get you in the fast track lanes. Is that like the toll roads where you need that white transponder in the dash of your car so the sensors pick up on it and would charge you whatever the fee was that day?

This only applies to the 10/110 Metro Expresslanes. The 91 Fastrak is different.

 

That blows. I live near the 91. My wife could've used that.

But I guess half my trip to Pasadena could be used on the 10 fwy stretch

Here's my HOV stickers timeline

1/24/14 Took delivery of 2014 PiP Base Model, thanks to my great broker: Marty Cohen at Marty's Sales and Leasing, Tarzana CA (shameless plug - love this guy!)

after waiting a few days I called DMV every few days, phone reps said VIN was "not on file"meaning paperwork not received from dealer - btw I just called main customer service number, and then used the automated call-back option

2/7 Called DMV and this time the VIN # was in, got plate #, mailed application

2/10 Plates arrived in mail

2/21 Check cashed

2/24 Stickers arrive #EH331xx

 

Well...decided to dive back into the Prius for HOV sticker (had on '05, I think, with the yellow sticker)....now I'm stressed that they will run out. If I purchase this week (my trusted dealer doesn't stock them but will order them via their DMV service at purchase), do you think I'm ok? Logic says yes but.........
