...so when are the long and happy pet threads going to be killed? As you suggest, they have it coming, per your logic.

A discussion of stupidity or lack of common sense as it started is definitely not political, religious, etc.....some just insist on peeing in the pool.

    why kill a thread?

Is it easier to cut off the entire topic or just surgically remove the bad posts? I think its much easier from a mod's point of view... nuke the whole thread rather than going it and cutting out the bad info.... Its not fair... but life rarely is.

I do the same thing at work... Union employees, a large walk behind mower was turned in for repair for a broken front caster. (looked like it got run into a curb and bent) No one fessed up. So for two weeks ALL walk behind mowers are removed from circulation for "service" and the only available equipment is 21" push type mowers to cut grass... Was it fair? Nope. but hope fully the point will get across.. "man up and tell me you fcked up" or at the very least when people see some else fcking up the equipment they will say something.

MarcSmith, it's not just union employees who do dumb things, non-union employees can be just as dumb. I used to work for a company whose manager would make an announcement about "policy", or a "new policy", or a "policy changes". We would all sit there and just nod our heads at her, then when she left, some of us would look around asking "who screwed up?" LOL Occasionally, someone would fess up, but most times everyone stayed silent. This stupid manager would do everything to go out of her way to punish everyone, when it would have been easier to just confront the one offending employee and be done with it. The dumb thing about it, there was no way to be anonymous with your work. She knew exactly who the offender was but refused to confront them directly. I guess it was just easier to punish everyone.

    Are we off topic yet?

JH I agree... We just got a new Director (2 months), Associate VP and VP (6 months).... While I understand that change is good.... at least do some research be changing... Also have to remember that in many cases (at least in mine) managers don't make policy, we just pass it on. I've been on both sides of the union table before... not fun on either side at times.
I was flipping through some of the complaints about the prius that have been logged into the NHTSA......Complaints like

    • DESIGN OF CAR INCLUDES A FLAW CAUSING A HUGE VERTICAL BLINDSPOT ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR.
    • THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD REFLECTED ONTO THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS, BLOCKING THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY.
    • THERE ARE VERY DANGEROUS BLIND SPOTS ON BOTH REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES OF THE TOYOTA PRIUS V .
    • THE DRIVERS SEAT DOES NOT RAISE FAR ENOUGH TO ALLOW SHORTER DRIVERS TO SEE OVER THE DASH BOARD , BASE OF WINDSHIELD AND REAR OF HOOD.
Not sure if this stupidity but it makes me wonder .......DID YOU TEST DRIVE THE CAR or research your purchase????? yes I realize that on a short test drive that you won't find ALL the nuances with these cars (voice activated nav frustration). but blind spots, seating heights, obstructed mirrors, are all pretty quick thing you'd notice.

you can't legislate common sense or outlaw stupidity... on the plus side...makes for funny stories....

I'm a firm believer of removing ALL Warning labels....eventually it will solve the problem of common sense and stupidity...

    Well....
Unfortunately many of the stupid people on the planet reach biological maturity before they're edited out of the gene pool. :(
