I have a 2007 with 247,000 miles. Recently when I go to get in the car in the mornings, the keyless entry will not work. Usually I just touch the doorhandle & it opens. It won't even open when I push the unlock button on the clicker. I have to take the key out of the remote to open the door. This only happens first thing in the morning when it is cooler & there is dew on the car. Later in the day, everything is fine. Any ideas?

Replace the button battery in your remote.

Put the old battery back and see if it works. Could be your new battery is not good

Sounds to me you have a sticky button. That will normally drain your fob battery if it's stuck. You have to correct that problem or you'll be back to the situation again. Youtube has some videos on a sticky button

These fobs spend a lot of time in grimy pockets. I bought a $7.00 soft case for it (Amazon), similar to the cheapies you see for smart cell phones (couldn't find an expensive nicer one with some water resistant qualities). I put the FOB in a plastic bag before putting it in the case.

I got the same soft case. I love it so much, I bought one for my TCH as well.
