Issue - I have two cell phones, one work, one personal. I have a C2, the non-nav radio. I have them both stored as bluetooth devices. But, if the car is moving, all bluetooth menus are disabled by the factory and you cannot switch between the two. Which wire tells the factory radio the car is moving? And I can already see this coming - please, no posts on why it's disabled on purpose and how I'll kill everyone on the road by pushing the two buttons it takes to switch phones. It's as easy as switch radio stations, so I doubt I'll be so distracted as to kill a school bus full of kids.
I can't help you with which wire, but I would also like to know. From time to time the Bluetooth on my phones gets messed up and I have to restart my phone while driving. Then I can't get reconnected. I think I'm just going to be switching to a double din aftermarket radio.
This can be very easy to fix, do you have to have the E brake in order to change phones ? The radio has a vss wire ( vehicle speed sensor) anything over 5ph and it will disable some of the options. I will look it up for you tomorrow at work.
even the stock non navi head unit has the vss wire? wow. something i would like to get rid of. but i really havent found any difference in options when driving and when in park
It might not be that simple. A LOT of new cars have all of the electronics communicating with each other over a serial bus. If that is the case, there is no easy way to disable only one feature. Have you considered turning OFF Bluetooth on the phone that you don't want to use at the moment ? On my phone, I think that takes two taps.
There is no VSS wire on a C1/C2 radio harness as it is not used in the radio. You can easily find the VSS wire from one of the WIRE in the harness and you can tap into the Vehicle proximity sensor control unit input right inside underneath the passenger airbag directly below on inside. You see a harness connected to a black box inside the dash on the right side - Harness Speed Signal cable on the G66-6
