I just ordered this ECU connector cover on eBay.

I know that it a small piece of plastic, but it does protect the thin 20 or 22 gauge control wires from damage.

To me, I think it is worth it. I've NEVER had mouse damage, but I thing it's worth having. Replacing the connector and wires would be very expensive.

It's the ecu module right next to the fuse box in the engine compartment. ;)

Rude person's, does this mean there will be a version of this cover machined out of billet aluminum or some other high quality material in the future? :D

Always wondered why those fragile wires were exposed and unshielded.

Looks great, but does anyone know the real reason that Toyota left it exposed in the first place? Please don't tell me it was to shave off a tenth of an ounce off of the weight...

Money! Millions of cars and the few seconds to put it on as well.

Regulations in other countries might require the cover, but not here in the US.

The British MOT inspection is tougher than here in the US.

I believe the whole set cost about $400.00 :(

Cost (installed) to Toyota might be a few percent of that...

I do realize that but some sellers offer as the set which includes the power inverter cover, coolant reservoir cover and the connector you mentioned. When I first purchased just the inverter cover, it was $135!
Now the ECU connector cover is about $25.

I would be leery of putting a cover over the inverter. The metal casing dissipates heat, the sworn enemy of electronics.

The inverter cover is standard for many other countries and the plastic engine cover is standard for ALL, no over heat issue reported!

Got my cover, today. It came by registered mail.

It is a highly engineered piece of plastic with two very small "micro" snap on ears.

Expensive, but I'm happy. It is WORTH the $25 to me.

Did you have to pull the grey lever to install the cover?

Has anyone researched to see if this or the covers for the inverter are available here in the US either from Toyota or Lexus. I am a recent owner of a 2014 v and was surprised to see that under the hood that this was missing along with any kind of cover for the inverter. My 07 had covers so what gives?
