I suffered a crack in my windscreen, and had to get the screen changed. Since then, I have noticed a ghosting / double imaging effect on the HUD. It's so distracting that I've had to turn it off. Anyone have this problem before, and if so how did you fix it?
Your screen name is a little ironic, considering your circumstances. Not familiar with the HUD option, but did the oem windshield have a semi reflective coating where the HUD projected? If so, does the replacement windshield have the same? Perhaps you can get a small piece of semi transparent light window tint and apply it in the area that the HUD displays. It will hopefully prevent the image from refracting off the (glass/plastic) interface layers within the windshield. SCH-I535
Only when I've been drinking. If you have a 2007 as indicated under your avatar you might want to post in the Gen II section since Gen III is different.
So I just cracked my windshield and am about to have it replaced. Safelight (3rd party) actually asked if I had a HUD option, and stated that they don't even carry the glass for this option and that its dealer glass they have to get. By any chance did you replace it with Toyota HUD glass? Supposedly there is a reflective coating... Also, there are a couple of threads watching an issue with the glass that has been pending for several years now. Here is one. Here is another that has a picture with an external light issue. Do you now have this external light source tripling issue? If so is it new, or did you have it previously? Cheers
