I have no reason to expect it is not. If it is, you will be notified when the dealer has the update.

So far, the v has not been mentioned in any material I have seen.

My v doesn't show any recalls, does anyone else yet see this on their VIN?

The V (Prius+ UK) is not affected as it uses different electronics in the boost control circuit.

My 2012 v isn't recalled either. But I'm not sure how up-to-date the information is on that site...does it include this latest recall?

Hey, there was a whole different thread, I think the original one announcing the recall, that I was discussing the recall within.
Suddenly it has disappeared along with any evidence of my communication within it.
    What gives?

    Relatively unamusing smilies aside...

I'd be very disappointed if the thread was removed.
IMO there was no commentary that wasn't valid. It was discussion about the recall, and about the definition of the problem.

Yes, I was just trying to locate that thread also. I too would be disappointed if it was removed due to comments made not favorable to Toyota.

Don't know where the other thread went. As I stated yesterday, I had the update performed at my dealership. I wanted to get in there before another 10,000 or so Prius showed up. It took an hour. I have no noticeable difference in performance, although, I have noticed that my cruise control is letting the car creep above my set MPH by one MPH and then slowly goes back down.

No parts are needed to be ordered as others have been told by their Service Advisers, it is just a download from Toyota to the techs computer, which he then installs to the vehicle.

I am hoping the new software has some improved algorithms. Maybe Toyota is using us to Beta Test new software?

Yeah, and I was just gearing up to put up a basic explanation of how switching transistors can make sine waves and vice versa. Now it's all gone.

I don't remember anything negative, just people falling all over each other talking about the recall. I wonder if it was the beginning of my tech explanation of How Things Can Go Wrong that did it? It's not like that stuff is rocket science, pretty much any EE/EET knows how inverters work.

I am bad. I am the one pointed out Toyota is doing a software fix for a hardware problem to save hundreds of millions of dollars.

I'll run a series of benchmarks before the patch and then afterwards:
    • max hill climb
    • "B" mode descent
Can anyone remember any other items to test?

Yeah, what happened to it??? I started it.

Finally, NHTSA has documents on it. See http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM450077/RCAK-14V053-1068.pdf and http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM450071/RCDNN-14V053-0945.pdf.

You can easily find it by searching for campaign 14V053000 under ID number, then going to Associated Documents from
    Code:
    http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues
. I'm sure more documents will be posted, including the procedure.

I sure hope at least kbeck's post can be restored.
