It is a tideland. The tideland looks very different based on weather conditions. The picture indicates it is very sunny out. This is when the tideland looks the grayest to me. On very cloudy mornings, my tideland looks much more green. Jeff
Camera's white balance can also affect how "gray" it appears. I've shot mine and gotten it to look that gray, when in person, it still appeared quite green.
The tideland by me in Boulder (the demo car) looks silver gray, just like the photo. I couldn't believe it was "green." I remember one day in 1990 when two brand new red MR2 turbo's rolled off the truck at the same time in Michigan. They were the same color code, but were markedly different shades of red. Very evident when parked next to each other. At least the car matched itself all over... For those of you with too much time on your hands, this company http://www.xrite.com specializes in matching colors on different materials. They make that machine at Home Depot that scans your sample and mixes house paint to match, also they make a machine for body shops that scans a painted car and tells the technician how to mix to make it match. This accounts for the factory variance in batches as well as fading, lighting conditions, angles, pearl coats, flex agent (for flexible body parts), and the material being painted. Way cool, they hold the patents for all this stuff, too. Nate
I just drove by a parked Tideland this morning, parked out near the University of Washington in the bright sunshine. Looked very close to the picture -- more gray than anything. It\'s very lucky the Prius is near-impossible to hotwire, because I am tempted sometimes...
Daydreaming again? [Broken External Image]:http://www.smailiki.nm.ru/kur/kos.gif This is defenitely color code 6S9 Tideland (Jade in my country).
I've got a Tideland Package A on order... I was a little miffed that I had to go with the Ivory interior in Canada. :x Seems to me that the Grey interior is a better match. I've seen both interior colors and the grey looks more "durable" to me as well...Do you have a choice in the US on interior color?
Boa was referring to another thread where I thought there was a EU Prius with the Phantom Grey Pearl paint. He's a smartass
tideland Got our Tideland a month ago, wife was disappointed that is did not even come close to color chip on Toyota literature, but now she loves it (both car and color) does look green in shade, but very gray in sunlight. Recently took a trip to Texas from Illinois, got 45 to 50 miles per gallon going 75 (mostly interstate driving), excellent!
There is better emoticon available to illustrate your last word, Danny [Broken External Image]:http://www.smailiki.nm.ru/zlo/ass2.gif
Only on certain colors -- white and black, specifically. All others '04 Prius colors have only one choice. And yes, the Tideland Pearl only comes with the ivory interior here, too.
