I know I'm probably the last to figure this out, but the gas cap retainer strap has a little bend in it, so you can hang it here while filling up.
And I've been telling peeps you're not slow...way to blow that theory. (j/k). I figured it out after tank fill up #2. Now we need a survey on how long it took peeps to learn certain nuances of the car....without reading the owners manual...who does that anyways...we come to the interwebs because all things are true when it's proceeded by www dot.
I saw it right away... but: Only because my Prizms 2001(RIP) and 1997(going strong) both have little holders for theuntethered gas caps. Otherwise I'm kinda slow and slowly getting slower since I retired a few months ago...what are we talking about again? Bye-bye: It's nappy time...
That's good to know, now if I can just remember that and use it. Here I have been cursing Toyota for going backwards and not providing a hang-up.
I used it from the first fill up, was not sure if that was the intent of it or not, glad I was right.
Thanks for the photo. I've only filled up once and was slightly confused. Makes perfect since now. My question is how long will the plastic "string" last before it breaks? Hmmm... Since I will not be filling that often maybe it will last a while.
Guess I'll have to fess up. I've had my C2 for almost a year and never even looked, so I learned today about the gas cap holder. However, I'm 68 years old, so I have an excuse, right? Guess I better go get my eyes checked.
Great feature, so simple you would think all vehicles had this. I have had a few with this as well as a clip that held the cap by the thread side too.
