Entune Bluetooth was not able to stay linked to my phone, ad could not pick it up again having dropped it. It was really a problem, and I could not count on being able to make a handsfree call, and I could not get traffic updates. Now it remains connected and feeds me my traffic updates...no more fumbling!
Did this update this morning. No problem. Although my version says 3.2. Hope this fixes the USB and BT playing music whenever it feels like it.
I tried this update on my '13 advanced and the display said it couldn't read the USB. I will se if I can figure out why.
Thanks for the quick reply. You just saved me a bunch of time trying to figure out that it doesn't work!
The only way to get an update with the HDD system on the Advanced is through the dealer. And that is after you train the service techs about the difference between Entune application updates, core system software updates, and map updates. All different processes, using specialized hardware. (Been there, done that. )
Your post caught my attention. I followed the link from post #147 and found out version 3.2 is out. Here is direct link: Dropbox - Entune 3.2.0
According to the other Toyota forum where this was posted: Some 2012 – 2014 model year vehicles equipped with a Display Audio Navigation System (Non-HDD) and Entune™ (version less than 3.2.0) may exhibit one or more of the following conditions: • Roads flash on and off in certain zoom levels (when Entune is in use) • Discolored bands appear across the screen (when Entune is in use) • Map area on the screen is black and only buttons are visible (when Entune is in use) • Navigation freezes (when Entune is in use) • When Bluetooth is the last audio mode selected in previous ignition cycle, audio source switches back to Bluetooth when another source is selected immediately after the engine starts
I just updated to 3.2 and it fixed the issue of -when Bluetooth connects- it automatically switched to Bluetooth music on my device- now it stays where it should be- on the radio (I am a news radio junkie).
I have a 2014 Plug-in Advanced model with HDD. How do I check the version for entunes? How is it upgraded? Thanks David
On the Apps page, you click on the Toyota logo in the upper left (as I recall). Entune updates are OTA and checked for when you open the Apps page and it connects to your smartphone. It says "checking for updates", and downloads them if it finds them. Note that this is for the Entune software in the car. The Entune app on the phone is updated like any other app, through your app store. For any other software updates (like the core system software or mapping data), you have to go through your dealer, who has a proprietary USB update tool.
That's the latest version for the Advanced model. (Premium HDD Navigation with Entune including Plug-in Hybrid Apps and JBL)
Went to the dealership today for my 25,000 service and recall issue. I also asked to have my Entune updated to the 3.1 version. When my car was done, I asked the lady if they updated Entune for me, and was told it was, and that's why it took a little longer. So, I get home, check the version, and of course it's still at 2.2. It's nice and comforting to have a dealership tell me they did something, and not actually doing it. Anyway, a big thank you to this post and the link to the other site that has the update. I downloaded it, added to a USB, and had it installed in about 5 minutes time.
Inspires confidence doesn't it? And they wonder why their reputations are right up there with lawyers!!! iPhone ?
This all has to make you love Tesla even more. First off, electric cars require so much less maintenance, but if there is an issue, they send someone to you. No dealership to deal with...ever. Gotta love that. That alone is worth thousands in my book.
