Hi all, just installed the Nav/BT adapter and the Nav screen works just like it did before I put the adapter in. I did not reinstall everything for this reason, just drove down the block with everything hanging out. It did hit the I Agree button once in my testing but never again. Also, once I hit menu after starting and it went to the volume screen and then took me to the technian page with all those icons including Override. Don't know if that messed it up or it is just a bad piece of hardware. Any ideas? They haven't answered my email yet and I want to button this thing up.
That's odd. With mine it didn't seem to work the first time, but I unplugged it and reconnected it. If it's like mine, when you press DEST for the first time after powerup it'll go to all the screens you come to when you were doing the override manually. In short it acted like an automatic button pusher.
I know- stupid question- but did you make certain and heard the click when the adapters connected ? i.e push them in further- maybe one was loose??? They take a fair amount of pressure.
It is in there for sure. In fact, I took it out three or four times. I think that when I hit the menu button it was doing something and that messed up the GPS. I wish I knew how to do a reboot, reset, whatever of the Nav system.
When you finish the installation, there's a 20 second reload. The total reset, if it's like when you press the LOAD button on that Service Menu screen involves taking it apart and pressing a button inside the unit. If the NAV system works like it used to before you put the NAV kit in, that sounds like the NAV system itself is fine.
Update, unplugged all four of the cables going into the DVD under the driver's seat with the Coastal adapter out. Restarted car, got a loading system screen. Turned car off when finished. Put adapter back in, restarted car. No go. So, it must be a bad board or something, loose plug, etc. on the Coastal product. Bummer.
