I'm curious how much brake life Prius owners are getting that use hypermiling techniques such as regen for most braking activities. I would think a loooooooong time since the mechanical brakes hardly get used!
I don't bother hypermiling, I have a long term average of 4.6L/100KMs. I still have original brake pads at 114, 000 miles. They look about 2/3 worn.
most people average 100,000 miles or so, but there have been some with completely shot pads and rotors at 30 or 40,000 miles. may be due to harsh winters and road salt.
Our 2 2010's needed pads at 60,000 miles even tho they were driven to maximize regen and minimize brake pads, Its not any better then a non regen system for brake pads in my opinion. I expected much better.
