My PiP roller blind cover does not roll up very well, it is very sluggish and droops when retracted. My old genII was much better retracting and storing neatly. I have dissassembled it but I have no idea what is the best tension to reset it to. I have given ten turns of the spring but it is not enough. I shall have to have another go. Has anyone got any advice?
Mine was the same. I had it replaced under warranty. The new one was a little better initially, but is now acting the same as the original. I think it's a design flaw.
Same here. Haven't used mine in a long time. If I had to venture a guess, I would say that you might be able to prolong it's useful life if you don't use it when it's really cold or really hot.
I too noticed the difference between my '06 and the PiP. The older one seemed stiffer and easier to guide into the slots which hold it in place. Change for the sake of change?
I had to take apart the cover on my GenII to clean it. I wound it 15 turns and while it is serviceable as is, it's not as tight as it used to be. I'm guessing at least 20 turns for being taught.
You guys must live in really safe places as I often have "stuff" in the back of the car that I do not want on display i.e. camera or binoculars. Don't want to invite trouble so I pull the roller over it.
i leave stuff uncovered back there, but i wouldn't leave electronics, it's not that safe! i have seen reports of people who go Christmas shopping, take stuff out to the car and go back in to shop. when they come back out, the trunk is open and all the presents are gone.
There are very few times of the year around here where it is ok to leave expensive electronics in an unheated or uncooled car.
Well the first thing I noticed was the cargo area tonneau cover on the PiP was about half the weight of the Gen II. They make a LOT of things either harder or flimsier than the Gen II. And all of these are for saving weight. I guess it adds up. I use my tonneau cover all the time, less area to heat or cool. iPad ? HD
