New here, did a search and came up with old info on Nor Cal Car Club. Is there currently one in place? If not, interest here?
Good Point. Since my purchase two weeks ago, it seems like every other car on the road is a Prius. Still, I miss my old VW Club. (last one was a 59 rag top bug)I have chatted with a few Prius owners when found with their cars and found them very open to the idea and to talking about their own car. Maybe.........
If you keep going North they get a little less common. Sure, I'm interested. I see a few other Prius owners socially that might be also.
The way these events seem to happen is that someone proposes a meeting date, and if enough people chime in, it happens. You want a place like a large mall parking lot where you can meet and check out each other's cars. After the parking lot happening, go inside the mall to a brew pub or pizza place.
Just throwing this out there, the Blackhawk Museum in Danville has a Cars & Coffee every first Sunday morning of the month. It's a free fun event and us Prius owners could potentially meet up there, after the event. Cars & Coffee Just an idea.
Yes, for example here is a video from last month's (not shot be me): It starts quite early in the morning however, 8am.
Thanks for sharing, much like the So Cal Coffee and Donuts run once a month. Its on my list to make...often!
I was at the coffee and car meet in Danville last October. I still didn't have my car at that time always great turn out.
They have it section out but mostly that turns out are the exotic cars that are parked in the enclosed area the rest takes spots outside the enclosed area.
For anyone interested, this is coming up next week: Northern california AltCarExpo – AltCarExpo's first Northern California transportation conference and expo I live in the neighborhood so will probably walk over. There's a nice restaurant/cafe right next door and also it's right on the Bay, so a nice location. Looks like it's mostly for 'industry' folks but they will have test drives of some electric and alternative fuel vehicles like hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles.
I'm not sure how many are interested, but I'll definitely be available to meet up next Saturday. I think a good place to meet would be about 5 minutes away at the Rosie the Riveter Park parking lot. It's quite close to the venue.
I'm planning to stop in to this event this coming Saturday for probably just an hour or two. I don't think it's going to be very large or a big deal, but I live in the neighborhood so if anyone is going too and wants to meet up and talk shop and check out our Priuses, let me know. Just start a conversation with me on here or reply to this thread. I live in the neighborhood so would be happy to meet up with anyone who's in the area on either day, Friday and/or Saturday.
