Gonna buy the STD model No accessories except for floor mats. Finance it at 0% for 5 years payment are about $493 a month. Get it insure from my insurance company? Have them fill up the gas tank? Complete HOV form application? Fill out California $1500 cash rebate? Anything I need done at the time of purchase?
Congrats! That's exciting..... "Anything I need done at the time of purchase?" Well, you can ask them to full charge your PIP before you pick it up... chances are they'll say "yes" but forget to do it anyway.
If you are in California, check out this info for a possible free charging station to first few applicants each month (I think). Dealer must apply for offer on the day of sale only. I ran across this after I bought my PiP 10/30/13. I did not check further into it. If you do, please let us know if it valid or bogus. If offer looks legitimate: Call your dealer ahead of time to ask who knows about this. Ask them to research and call you back. Still, be sure to bring all info to your dealer and be ready to 'walk them thru it' on day of sale. CEC Program Overview : EV Solutions Link to what I wrote when I ran across it (too late for me) 12/8/13. Calif. Day of purchase ONLY! (dealer must apply!) FREE Charge Station from CEC ! | PriusChat Anyone else in CA ever heard of this program and if it is legitimate? Oh yes, have them do these things (If you want them) Reverse beep noise continues (inside car only!) entire time car is inrverse. Extremely annoying. 1) Have reverse alarm changed to 'One Beep' We hated the seat belt alarm. Our and many dealers say this cannot be turned off. Ask them nicely to show the rule or law stating this (Chap 6 in manual show it can be turned off) . They have option to turn off driver and/or passenger seats independently. We have both OFF. 2) turn off seat belt alarm (you may like to keep this. YMMV) 3) confirm/get Entune 3.1 software update 4) If you have a tire pressure prefferance, ask them to set it to that. OEM I think is 37 front/ 35 rear. I and many like 42/40. Many like higher pressures, but ride rougher to me. Good luck
Enjoy your new car, I'm enjoying mine. Getting 95-100 mpg for an 18 mile commute each way- I get to plug in at work. MPG is far exceeding the 70 MPG I expected.
Your impressions? Proud owner? Congratulations! It's great to know there is yet another fuel efficient hybrid on the roads. It's gonna' be tough bumping the F150 off its pedestal, but just maybe....

Well I have a few Ford trucks and no I am not selling them. One of them has 685,000 miles and still on the original engine. Don't think the Prius can tow 15,000 pounds. If you know of a vehicle that can haul 7 tons and gets better than 20 MPG let me know. But I use them as a work truck and haul stuff. I don't go buy a loaf a bread in the trucks unless it is a stop to my final destination. First impression ... Spent several hours getting the car and drove out the dealership at 9PM Dealership salesman spent more than an hour AFTER the sale to show me all the features while in the car. Went over EVERY feature on the PRIUS .... even the manual unlock on the gas tank. And yes how to jump start it. Bought it last night and the "service" shop was closed. Was not able to remove the beeps but did get a full tank of gas, and a wash. The only item I upgraded to was another color. Instead of costing 29,572 it was 29,999.99, pearl white out the door with a full tank of gas. They also added side molding and door corner guards. Prius was charged while we did all the paperwork. Had six miles on it drove it home on all EV. Since it already had 6 miles the car has a average of 74 MPG
That's $50 less than my 0 down, 0 interest payment or $3000 less than what I paid 15 months. Can't say I'm not a little upset at the huge price drop but then again, I have saved myself approximately 300 hours sitting in the carpool lane. I love this car! iPhone ?
Assuming you have a smartphone, synch it up with the Bluetooth SMS text display & answer capability in the center console display. I have the PiP Advanced, and texts read out aloud when they come while the car is rolling, and I can send back one of about 18 pre-set (and editable) answers, also while rolling. For this post, I assume that the base PiP has some or all of these capabilities as well. Enjoy - it's a good car.

Looks like about 27K is the going rate for the base model these days for willing negotiators. I paid about the same price for mine 6 weeks ago, minus the $300-400 premium for the white paint.

That is about how much I have learned. Have too many irons in the fire !
Congratulations! I've had mine just over a year. It's more than transportation. the Prius adds another dimension to driving, and I like it.
