When I have the navigation routing somewhere, I can't figure out how to adjust the volume of the voice. How can I do this?
I think it's on the touch screen. Look for the "speaker", touch it and the volume control should pop up.
My speaker icon is on the left edge of the screen, low but not all the way to the bottom. But there are more than one display/audio/nav systems available, so others may be different.
My speaker icon is similar setup. I wish there was a way to control it from the steering wheel so you don't have fumble with it while driving.
SETUP --> Navigation --> Voice Guidance Volume It might be slightly different with the HDD version you have but given that it's a Denso unit, I think the instructions should be very close.
Thanks all, found it. It's a bit strange that you can't adjust this from the steering wheel or volume knob.
Well it wouldn't know how to distinguish between changing the radio volume and changing the voice guidance. You can, however, change the volume of your call on-the-fly via the steering wheel volume buttons when you're in a bluetooth handsfree call.
Since the navi voice doesn't mute the radio, the volume should adjust along with the stereo volume. Or is there a way to set it to mute the stereo when it speaks?
It doesn't mute but it should lower the volume. Mine does, even on bluetooth streaming audio. Keep in mind that I have the "legacy" 7" DVD-based nav system, not the flash-based 6.1" Display Audio nor the 7" Premium HDD-based nav (which actually is closer to my system than the 6.1" because it's the same manufacturer that builds both 7" versions). The voice guidance should come through the driver's side tweeter/midrange speaker on the dash. (At least that's where mine's coming from)
