I think this is why my bluetooth streaming is out of whack (noticeable, continuous fluctuations in pitch or speed). I hadn't noticed this happening until about the time I did the upgrade to 4.3 on my Verizon S4.

Hopefully Kit Kat will resolve this!

Not sure from your responses if you have Entunes or not but I have Entunes and the Play Store shows an update for it but after reading a number of reviews about the update, I decided against updating Entunes for now. There seem to be a lot of problems with the new update.

I don't think he has Entunes, as I'm pretty sure it wasn't available on the 2010 MY.

I upgraded to 4.3. I have since done a factory reset and it's all better. I'm back to a perfect connection for both phone and music player. The best part is the screen on my phone is no longer stuck black and won't wake back up. Don't get that update, but if you do and factory reset fixes it.

I did download Entunes after reading this thread, but never reloaded it after doing the factory reset. It's not necessary to connect via blue tooth.

Here is something I noticed: A friend recommended another music app called PowerAmp that he likes. I can't remember why he recommended it but I downloaded it. Also can't remember how or why but somehow it grabbed some of the podcast files that are already files downloaded to the phone because I am using BeyondPod, a podcast app. When I was getting in my car I would find that the Prius's Entune would start playing from the PowerAmp playlist. So I would be listening to one podcast while I was out of the car using BeyondPod as the player, and then hop in the car and it would switch to a different podcast set in a PowerAmp playlist.

It was very confusing until I figured out what was going on. Since I haven't figured out any real utility to the PowerAmp app I have uninstalled it and that problem is gone.

I have the S4 with 4.3 and have been using Entunes and have encountered no problems. Bluetooth works fine. The phone syncs fine and I have my contacts. I can listen to music. I'm sorry that other people are having problems. I imagine there are others out there who haven't had problems. It must be the luck of the draw.

Getting an s4 in a few days not sure what to think, some say they caller works, And some say
Not, its ver. 4.3 jellybean I believe on the new s4. Went with the verizon guy out to my car with a test s4 and the jerk would not upload his phone book for me to test caller Id. Wasn't going to tell him I bought it at costco for $49 and not pay his $199.00. Serves him right. I guess I will just find out in a few days. I talked to Toyota and an update it coming out in the next few months for the car but she can't tell me what's in it. She also said the phone will show numbers but not names which is more than I get right now with my htc rezound, it only shows incoming call, but after you accept the call it gives the phone number on the screen - go figure.

How can I check my 2011 Package IV Radio for its revision number? It is working well with my Verizon Galaxy S4 (on Android 4.3, however just like most here it will not sync the Phonebook. I do not have any issues with the Bluetooth audio cutting out or anything like that. So when an update does come out I want to know what revision I am on now in case I want to roll it back if the Bluetooth Audio or anything else does start to cut out. Thanks in advance.

Just updated my Galaxy S3 to v.4.3. New (used) phone for me. The phone sync is a total mess! Important names not showing up at all! I have to hand connect to each number. The whole Prius (all of toyota) system for phone, maps, etc! can not compare with an Android system or iPad/Phone. Toyota inventing their proprietary system is an expensive dud! They need to switch to an android system so we can get apps and let the international app creator geniuses help us in our vehicles!
Re: your comment the the Verison guy would not upload his phone book into your car, of course no one in their right mind would give anyone they don't know their personal phone book! If you think otherwise, why not just post your phone number here on the chat and see what happens, just for fun! LOL!

After updating my AT&T S4 to 4.3 in Jan., all worked just fine but now the 4.4.2 KitKat is out for update and I'm hoping things will go smooth with that also.

I really don't have a very good experience with the Samsung GS4 and the Prius. I like to listen to podcasts. Not sure how I came to the decision to use an app called OneCast as my player. Between the Samsung Music app and OneCast I can't consistently depend on what will play when I get in the car. It seems that the Samsung Music app usually starts up, and then I have to launch OneCast, find a podcast and then if I had the OneCast play button on the phone it starts playing that instead of the music in the Samsung Music app playlist. It shouldn't always default to the Samsung app. I didn't have those problems with an iphone - because the music app was my podcast app.

Another thing: I'm playing music or a podcast and then want to use the (crappy) Nav in the Entune. The volume of the voice giving instructions is way softer than the music and I miss the instructions sometimes. Or I stop the music and turn up the voice volume for the instructions and then I do something with the phone and the phone's sound volume comes on super loud. I find the Android implementation pretty poor with Entune.

Has Entune been updated since Feb 2013 when I bought the car?

I've been using KitKat for 2 days now. Had to reconnect phone & audio. The Entune app got an update too. It's all working fine.

When I mentioned about updates to Entune I was asking about updates to the firmware on the Prius's electronics. But regarding the Entune app for Android, what does it do?

It enables your phone to download the data for the apps in Entune in the car.
