Anyone have experience with Dublin Toyota with asking for/ getting the 3.1 Entune update? I will be taking mine in next week for the 5K mi tire rotation mainly to get the update, otherwise I'd swap the tires front to rear myself. Also, will the service dept leave your tires pressures (and TPMS settings) alone if you ask (and leave a big note in car? ).
I politely asked for the service department at the dealership where I bought my PiP 2.5 weeks ago if they could put on the HOV Stickers for me today, and also asked if they could update Entune to 3.1.0 and change the back-up beeping to one beep. I guess I got lucky and did not get charged. Entune 3.1.0 is MUCH faster than the 2.2.x I had previously. Haven't had a chance to check out the bug I noticed on my last version, where "Automatic" time of day seemed to be stuck as Daytime and did not switch to Nighttime mode at like 10pm (it was too bright), requiring a manual switch.
Calling the 800 toll free # speeds things up.And, makes the service director here aware there's an issue and a disappointed customer. I'm sorry this happened, but usually my own buyers call me or come see me if they have a problem. And, with a dozen or more possible people the poster could have spoken with at this dealership, he doesn't say WHO he got that info from.
I called and scheduled my 5K appointment this morning. The gal on the phone in the service dept verified that the Entune 3.1 update and changing Reverse alarm to 'one beep' were free. She said the seat belt alarm could not be turned off. (smiles to self ) I told her I was looking at page 646 of the manual Section 6-2 Customization, and that right after 'Reverse Warning Buzzer', was listed Seat Belt Reminder: On / Off (#3 dealer resettable). She said she check and call me back. She called back in about an hour and confirmed they could do the SB buzzer also (and confirmed all were no charge). Good service. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge here that is shared. It seems even with the best intentioned dealer's, everyone (or many) may not know al the fine details of what can or cannot be done. It pays to know in advance and have documentation (maunal or TSB#) to help the dealer help us. It sure saves a lot of time to call to confirm in advance so we can be in agreement on what they can and can't do and free vs. cost, before showing up for the appointment.
looks like someone leaked and posted the SW Entune 3.1.0 update how to/ download link - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums
Unfortunately, now with 3.0 3.1, I still get my iPhone playing music via Bluetooth when it feels like it (unasked). I'll have to quit the music app to avoid this.
3.0? or 3.1.0? how are you doing it? it shouldn't reconnect back to Bluetooth music (BTSA) when it feel like it. I noticed a bug, if u are on BTSA on your last ignition cycle this time when u get into the car and decides to switch to sources before it returns to BTSA when BT starts up it will reconnect and play BTSA. if what you experience is different please share the steps to recreate issue.
Not sure, I will need to pay closer attention. I am not sure what you mean here, sorry. But IIRC, the BTSA does seem to turn on when the system senses and connects to my phone's BT when I first get into the car. I'll try to remember what mode system was in 1) prior to BTSA turning 'itself' on & 2) What audio was set at prior to last engine/car turn off. I almost always just alternate between Satelite and BTSA. Sorry about typo, it is 3.1 (above post corrected).
Thanks for the link to the update. Worked great for me on a 2013 Prius Three. Different people at the dealer told me v2.2 was the latest, I'd have to buy the update on the Entune website, or that it wasn't compatible with my car. In the end upgrading it myself worked fine. Really appreciate whoever was able to post it originally.
Thank you from me also! Completed the update in 5 minutes in my driveway, and my navigation and bluetooth connection drops are resolved. It is very sad that dealers muffed a perfect opportunity to quickly and easily provide good customer service, and that Toyota did not provide them with the necessary training to succeed at something easy to do with high satisfaction returns. I love my car again, but will be looking for a trusted mechanic, whether at a dealership or maybe not! SM-P600 ?
Wow that link worked like a charm. Toyota dealerships quoted me 2 hours to a whole day, to do a 3 minute upgrade. Thank you Soo Much.
Other that better operation does anybody know the difference with the up grade, I got my at the dealer!
Just did the update on a 2 gb drive I use for audiobooks. It's 300 mb so a 512 mb drive is really all you need. I didn't have to rename the drive to 13b or whatnot. First impressions is that I get faster response when pressing buttons. iPhone ?
