Forgot to post this earlier. In July we went to Tokyo to visit my mom and her family. My mom's family is Japanese - my late Dad's family is from Hawaii. Saw a bunch of cars - many not available here - including the neat little delivery vans and "trucks" not imported to U.S. (Not up to U.S. regs?). Anyway - I saw several Prius v's while there - but they are badged "C+" or Cx" not "v". Is the Prius v badged differently in other countries too?
Just to clarify the above, in Japan it's the Prius α and in Europe it's the Prius+. It's the Prius v in the Americas and in the Asia/Pacific region. I think you've (understandably) misread the alpha chracter as cx, given the way they've stylised it with a 3D look. toyota.jp プリウスα
Thanks for the clarification - really did look like "Cx" but the badge you show makes it clear that it's the alpha. Plus: Tokyo - had not been there since 1963 - made my head spin.
No - but thank you and Happy New Year. At my age I don't mind other people thinking that I'm a little dense...cause it's kinda true. At least that's what the wife unit tells me...
I think it's one of those things where once you've "seen" it, you can't unsee it. Before you realise it's a stylised alpha, you could very easily see it as a flat cx, but afterwards it'll always be an alpha.
