    My co-worker (one of 2) who purchased TWO Pri on my advice, just replaced HIS traction pack. The WAY cool thing about it is his Prius (Gen 1) had over 260,000 miles on it. Not too shabby! My Prius (Gen II went to a co-worker, and it went for well over 100K miles, until it was totaled in a front/rear end collision. The pack was working so well (still) that all modules went to others ... kind of like a doner heart transplant.

    180,000 miles, 2006. Owned car since new, lowest ownership costs of any vehicle I have ever owned. Few issues, had transaxle seal leak in first 3,000 miles. Dealer replaced front transaxle. HID headlight problems at about 70k, replaced bulbs with aftermarket, never been impressed with the HID headlights in this car, also own a 2005 and a 2011 w/o HID and they have much better night driving vision, I plan on converting to halogen. At aprox 130k inverter pump failed I replaced it with the help of PriusChat. Vehicle has been to dealer only twice for service, once for the transaxle and for the gas peddle recall. Still running with original 12vt battery and original brake pads. Only complaint I have is the JBL premium stereo upgrade and no daytime running lights. The stereo is weak when playing the radio but when I use the AUX IN and a external media source its sounds fantastic, I think the radio's pre amp is underpowered. With no daytime running lights I have to adjust the display lights all the time. These are little things, its a great car as are the two others we own. the 2005 has 140,000 on original inverter and hybrid battery pack but also needed inverter pump at about 120k. The 2011 has about 60,000 being 6'4" I love the adjustability of the front drivers seat, but the audio system turns off randomly and will come back on when its good and ready. Now that we have put a 10k solar system on our house, our next new car will probably be a plug in. I hope Toyota has one with some EV range when were ready. But to say I'm a satisfied customer would be a understatement. Oh not that I'd recommend it I towed 2 large motorcycles 1200 miles on a trailer behind the '06 when it was at 150,000 with no problems. Still pull a trailer full of trash with it to the dump often.

    145,000 miles on my 2004 Prius with only standard maintenance (factory recommended... not dealer recommendations) and Toyota Recalls installed.... with no other problems or repairs. I still have approximately 5,000 miles on the original front brake pads and rear linings. Average 52-54 mpg in warm weather and 48-50 mpg in colder weather when the engine has to run more to heat the coolant... I average 50% highway and 50% city traffic. :) I have found that highway driving in excess of 73mph results in a 3mpg drop in gas mileage, thus in long distance highway driving I set the cruise control at 72mph.

    Can't drive at that speed any where in Australia except Northern Territory. Guess we'll have to move to Darwin to maiximise economy.:(

    2001, HV Battery replaced, zero problems with inverter... Car retired due to rusted out suspension components, but engine/hybrid working perfectly, 303600kms

    2013, Prius C2, no problems so far..

    a car with only 12 years would not have to have rusted out suspension

    2004 package 9 with 235,000 miles. Original battery, inverter, and brakes. I average 48 to 52 in winter and 54 to 58 in summer. I seek to keep six bars at all times, letting the car warm up a half to full minute before leaving home (immediate hill climb). I fully agree with others regarding the charge/discharge/heat issues and have scrupulously avoided excessive discharge. Confess that I had not thought about charging. I've seen eight (green) bars only once while owning the car (18 mos) so it may not be an issue for me. I drive for economy and hence rarely exceed 65 MPH. I believe that those that drive this way see less wear in many areas due to the moderate stress put on the various systems.

    I've added leather seat upholstery to the front, which was one of the trickier chores I've attempted.

    2010 Prius IV - left it with a friend in LA at 85 K miles last May, Just picked it up with !07K miles and drove it back home to Miami. Now has 110K miles. Never had a problem with anything. Even took it off road in the snow. (Roads were iced on i-40 in Texas, just followed some trucks on the side who cleared a path) :cool:

    Bought the car brand new from a dealer here in FL, have never had 50 mpg. Normally mid to low 40's. This trip I got 38 mpg from LA to Miami. I know they said they put 2 new tires on it. That's why I'm on the forum, to figure out why I dont get as good mpg as everyone else says they do on here. I have a heavy foot, but that can't be a 12mpg drop. I'm sure not everyone here drives like a grandma. I love my Prius tho =)

    13 years almost to the day: MY 2001, built in October 2000. I'm in Canada, where they salt the heck out of the roads. The crossmember and lower arms were heavily rust compromised, particularly the lower arms, which literally looked like there were chunks missing off the edges- it's these arms losing structural integrity and twisting subtly and causing a marked change in alignment (wheels started squealing going around even shallow corners) that caused me to stop and inspect the undercarriage more carefully and note the damage. The engine mounts were in bad shape too..

    The car was never rustproofed or oiled, and in the last few years, I was so busy that I did not wash the car very much and drove a lot of dirt/mud roads throughout the year, so the undercarriage was pretty encrusted with mud/salt for most of the winter.. That said, it was really the front cross member and arms that bore the brunt of the corrosion damage- the rest of the car was in pretty decent shape given its age- a number of people I talked to mentioned that Toyota had a problem with rust in the front suspension components in many different models from about 1999-2002.. When I was shopping for a replacement vehicle, I inspected a 2005 Prius from my city that was nearly pristine underneath despite also never having been rustproofed or oiled, so Toyota obviously did make some changes.. It still fared a heck of a lot better than the two Toyota vehicles I had prior to the Prius- a Tercel and a Corolla, which both had significant rust well before they were even 10 years old, and these two vehicles were washed religiously..

    In any case, the first thing I did with the C2 was take it to Krown for the undercarriage to be sprayed, so hopefully I can avoid the fate of my previous vehicle..

    2005 Prius, traction batteries replaced at about 80,000 miles under warranty. I think they were defective, so I'm glad they went out when they did. A little later and it would have cost us a lot. It's at 108,000 miles now.

    BTW, we bought a 2013 prius 3 today. So we now are a two-Prius family.

    2008 Has 218,000 miles. I have changed the 12 volt battery, transaxle fluid and pcv valve, along with sparkplugs(2x). Also had the Warranty work done where they changed the coolant invertor and few other things. Other than that have not had one single problem. Hope to drive it until 2018, then I getting me a new prius...

    But looking at the survey above it appears you haven't ticked the box to reflect the replaced inverter. (unless you did it a few days ago)

    i think he meant the inverter coolant, not the coolant inverter.
