I recently upgraded my iPhone from a 3G to a 4S. The latter uses Bluetooth 2, which I think is the source of my problem. I have no trouble connecting, but now incoming calls don't show the caller's name from my Prius phonebook; only the phone number shows (and sometimes not even that). With my iPhone 3G, I didn't have this problem. I'm assuming that the new behavior is because the iPhone 4S uses Bluetooth 2 and there may be a slight incompatibility with my 2006 Prius Bluetooth. Does anyone know if this is the problem and whether there's anything I can do about it? Thanks.
I don't have any answers but am watching the thread for ideas. I find that voice control of the car and Siri conflict and Siri crashes. I'm in a v but I think the issues are likely similar. Did data function with the 3gs over bluetooth or was it required to use usb? W
Actually, I had a 3G, not 3GS, iPhone. And it did use Bluetooth. But I guess the 2006 Prius is supporting Bluetooth 1 and now the iPhone 4S uses Bluetooth 2. As that's the only real difference with my new phone (as far as my Bluetooth connection is concerned), I assume it's the cause of the problem. Is there any way to have Toyota upgrade the Prius Bluetooth software? (I doubt it, but figured I'd ask anyway!).
I do know it happens but I don't know how often. Hopefully they can get together and get this fixed. W
I had forgotten that I started this thread almost 2 years ago, so I began another one a few days ago on the same subject: Bluetooth problem with 2006 Prius and iPhone 4S | PriusChatCheck there for more recent info about my problem. Unfortunately, it doesn't look good.
