iPhone 5c won't work with AUX port - iPhone 4 was fine

    I have a 2011 Prius and have been connecting my iPhone 4 to the Aux port for years with no problem. Just got a new phone - iPhone 5C and now when I connect it says it doesn't recognize the device. Have tried using both the spare cable I bought for this purpose as well as the cable that came with the phone. Any ideas why? Thanks!!

    The "aux" port? You mean the USB port? Or the audio port? And what says it doesn't recognize the device? The iPhone 5c? The audio system?

    The headunit in the 2011 should easily recognize the 5c as a media player if you connect it via a USB cable to the USB port.
