hello, I am looking into a 2009 Prius package 6. Price is 14,497. Has 52,208 miles. I guess the pack 6 comes with nicer stereo, leather, nav. Was 30,000 + new (according to sales manager). I have a 2012 Prius model two, leased. trying to get out of my payments. Is this a decent deal? If not, what would you pay?
KBB.com indicates dealerprice of $15,700 in my area, so that seems pretty good. Your area might be different. You might check edmunds.com or nadaguide.com. I think nada is what many dealers use. You can see the options and packages for 2009 here.
Seems like a pretty good deal, maybe offer $13.5k and see if they'll take it. I bought my 2008 touring model with 88k miles for $10.5k from a private owner. I keep checking around to see what others are selling for and I think I got a really good deal. I would have liked to find one with a few less miles but mine had full service history and was 1-owner. Does package 6 indicate it as the touring model? If so do your research and make sure the car you're looking at is indeed a touring model. Otheres have found out the hard way that some dealers are selling as touring models when in fact they are not.
That's a really good deal. I paid $10k for my 2007 Touring with 112K and that was under KBB. Package 6 is pretty much loaded, but not necessarily a Touring. The Touring was a separate model with it's own packages.
There are several forum members that believe the Gen II model to be superior to the Gen III in terms of storage, ergonomics, and some, even reliability.
The dealer wasn't lying that the original retail on a pkg. 6 from that year was over $30K. I also have a pkg 6 (similarly equipped for the 2008's) and found the original window sticker in the glove box. Total reflected about $31K when new, although in that year they had tax incentives. If I needed a set of wheels and that one had a clean carfax, I'd buy it.
