First real road trip in my 2010 prius. We've had it about 6 months. Drove from Corona in Southern California to Nevada city in north California. Took the 395 most of the way there then around Lake Tahoe. 528 miles total. Between my wife, two young kids, and I we had 400lbs of people, about 150lbs of gear in the car, and 200lbs on our cargo carrier. I drove the speed limit all the way there and averaged 44.2 mpg's actual. The display read 47.4. I stopped to fuel up right as we crossed Nevada state line at the 405 mile mark and pumped in 9.01 gallons. I was really impressed with the stats, I thought we'd get mid to high 30's. We are still up here for a few more days. Excited to see the numbers on the drive home. This was a pit stop in lone pine. Turn off signatures in Tapatalk Tapatalk
I've put about 5000 miles on the car. When I bought the car it had, and still has, cheap no name tires that I considered replacing but never did. I don't think Santa is bringing me energy saver tires Turn off signatures in Tapatalk Tapatalk
I just completed 395 from Southern California to the Canadian border with my HCH2. Averaged 44 for the complete trip. What a beautiful drive! I just traded the 2006 hch2 for a new Prius 3. 2014. I have only put about 300kilometers. On the pri. but man I am impressed with this auto. Drives well and is very efficient. Allthough the fe indicator appears to overstate somewhat. Will have to figure how much. One happy new owner. H
The 395 is a great drive especially if there is no traffic. We made it back tonight safe and sound. Averaged 43 mpg on the ride home. I love this car. And since we don't see too many pics in fuel economy section here is a little prius love from the trip. Out side our rental house in soda springs. Pit stop at mono lake. Sounds like a nice visit to our neck of the woods. I use 395 everyday several times. Many visitors to this area really love it and decide to stay. There's more to do here than just gamble and that's why many of us moved here and call it home.
Kudos TheLos...Corona is a beautiful town...in fact my Son was born there. The only thing bad was the 91 commute to work at LAX.
Thanks guys! I really enjoy that 395. I'm already planning a trip to Yosemite this year. I've only been living in corona for 4 years. Moved here just before our son was born. And enjoy it here more each day. Luckily I don't have a long commute as of now because the 91 is miserable. iPhone ?
great trip looks like! glad to hear its great still on long trips when not using the electric motor as much!
