Installing my remote start, and my bypass wants me to cut a red wire at the body ecu for "auto headlights" - of course I'm like Wth? So I buy a TIS 2 day pass, and sure enough, the factory manual for the Prius C shows an "auto" headlight position AND this red wire at the proper pin # per my remote start manual. I'm assuming Toyota decided not to add the feature last minute, but weird, it seems the wiring is there and all! Chris
I might be chasing the cat up the wrong tree but in my experience with older Camrys etc. Toyota produced the same loom and connections for all models but only connected the ones relevant to each cars level of accesorising ( if that's a word?). This cut costs and saved time on the factory floor. It could be there is another level of C with auto headlights.
C1 - C4, no auto headlights, I double checked on Toyota's site, and on the forums here (and many people with a C4 are hacked that there are no auto lights). So not sure what gives... Chris
He's right I have all the bells and whistles that you can get and auto head lights are just not available on any of the C's
i am 100% sure that non of the Cs in US have auto on headlights. but as i was looking at the wiring diagram, they do say that the car has an auto on wire. but i wonder how that wire will work? can we ground it? give it 12v? i wonder.
but they are adding an extra module. according to the wiring diagram, there is already a wire for auto on lights. but is the wire connected to anything in the ecu or sensor?
The wiring diagram shows it as part of the existing switch, which we all know isn't true... there is no mention of a light sensor etc...
True, but I'm sure in one of those threads they would have mentioned if they found what you are looking for.
