Unfortunately ... It's depreciated way more than that ... I tried to trade my 2010 II in and the most I was offered was $11,400 .... As I said in other threads, the current non hybrid cars getting 40+ mpg highway and high 30's overall have greatly hurt the Prius used sales. Big incentives and 0% financing on other cars and new Prii don't help either.

Just drive it and enjoy it and don't think about what it's worth.

I think used Prius prices are very very sensitive to the price of gas, when we see $4 a gallon gas again Prius prices will rise……….

I'm not so sure of that anymore ... There's a LOT of Prii sitting on lots these days .... Quite a supply.

I kinda think the used Prii at the dealers now are the 2010 36 month lease returns. Seems the market is saturated with them and a few newer models.

I was talking about a plethora of new ones, but the above sure can't help used Prii values either. Combine that with a public who doesn't generally understand hybrids, the fact that there's LOTS of both new and used ones, and you have a recipe for depressed prices. We have to face it ... The Prius is no longer THAT groundbreaking.

I gotta admit ... With the new Mazda 3 getting the mileage that I'm getting with it ... I don't think I would have bought a Prius if it had been available at the time. You can buy a LOT of gas with $7k, and have a conventional looking car that's REALLY fun to drive. I wish I got to drive the Mazda more often, but it's hard prying the keys out of my wife's hands.
