I recently purchased a 2013 Prius with Nav and backup camera. I have upgraded the entire system and have a brand new plug and play system including bezel that I would like to sell ($400 obo - I can except paypal). Priuslovers [email protected]
I believe its plugin play...just need back up camera and microphone.. Both I think he has available LG-LS980 ?
Should be plug in play for a 2 this came out of a persona package that dosent have jbl.... the only reason I know so much was I almost bought it then found out it was non jbl...sad LG-LS980 ?
I recently replaced the Nav / headunit in my prius (I did not care for the stock unit). I found out in doing this (from the installation that I personally did). There is no such thing as a plug and play unit, unless it is the same year and either a non jbl or a jbl, the same cars. If you are trying to replace a jbl unit you will find the cables are going to be all different. You will have to either get a schematic and rewire everything or have a stereo shop hard wire the unit that you want. I installed the Alpine INE-Z928HD - very nice but a lot of work (I installed an alpine backup camera - the video displayed is amazing). I have sold my stock unit and would not recommend using a similar unit. To much work for a mediocre unit. Thanks, Priuslovers.
If you have a Prius that you want to replace or upgrade to a better head unit, you have a few choices. The head unit that I installed is an Alpine and you can buy a perfect fit kit that comes with all the wiring harnesses and new bezel. It makes the installation fairly easy (as long as you have time and experience). Or you can have a local stereo shop do it for you. From my experience the Toyota head units are not worth purchasing and reinstalling. If you live in Northern California I can highly recommend the Alpine dealer that I bought my equipment from (High Tech in El Cerrito). Priuslovers
