We were driving around the neighborhood last night looking at Christmas lights and my wife noticed her feet were illuminated. I have never noticed the lights that illuminate the front floor except when getting in or out of the car. I checked both doors and they were closed. Is this normal? We were driving around a low speed, but I have never noticed this before. 2013 Prius III.
Could have been that or a rear door, but the lights went out when I shut the car down. I'll check all doors tonight. Thanks!
Holiday cheer indeed, they may turn to blue lights if they stay on! Went for a drive after dark and they are still on very faintly during the drive and turn off as they should when I park the car. Just my new white shoes (tennis, not leather) make it more obvious.
Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order. That could drain your 12v battery if they stay on or worse yet, come on while you're away from the car. And, while they're on, is the light in the cargo area lit as well? And if you have it turned off, try turning it on for the test. It could just be a defective switch in one of the doors/hatch.
I believe that is normal. The ambience lighting turns off when the car is shut down and locked. Mine operates the same way.
Yes, dealer said it is normal. Funny that I had never noticed it before, but the car is only a few months old. Thanks for the input.
