My dealer updated me to 3.1.0 for free, huzzah! Glad to have some of those bugs fixed that were annoying me.
I just went in yesterday for my 15000 mile service at Toyota of Santa Cruz. You would think that a dealer who sells lots of Prius would be a little more savvy, but they had no idea there was an update and insisted that everything was done over the air now. And as usual there "one guy who know more" was not there that day so I'm either going to have to hound someone or go to another dealer. The last update was an even worse nightmare and they ended up replacing the head unit.
The update just comes on a memory stick and just plug's into the usb port and down loads. Takes about five minutes and is free, tell them Toyota Service Bulletin associated with this update is T-SB-0051-13.
Erica at Team Prius should be told about this; I don't know if she's monitoring this thread, but you could Start a Conversation with her at post #74 above.
I have entune App on my iPhone5 and when I have it showing on the Iphone screen and I goto the App screen on the PIP and click one of the apps I get a message saying make sure entune is running on your device So whats up with that . It is running on my phone but won't connect to the car. How do I fix this?
The car apps don't work over Bluetooth; you either have to connect the Turn off signatures in Tapatalk the USB cable or have a tethering option on your phone's data plan. When the phone connects to the car via USB you should get a confirmation message about allowing an internet connection, then another about data usage. After that should be a message confirming the connection. Then the car apps should work.
Similar experience here- I am going to keep trying "over the hill" in San Jose/SF/Marin/San Rafael/Santa Rosa...but your experience with the prior update may explain why they've been unable/unwilling to do 2.2 for me.
This is not true on the PiP Entune. The apps should connect automatically over Bluetooth when the Entune app is running on the phone. See attached Bluetooth screens. Phone, Text, and Music all work over Bluetooth and Apps work over Bluetooth with Entune app running. I do not have tethering.
SAronian, Curious what do you use your iPad to connect to Entune for? I chose to remain at iOS 5.1* so I won't be able to use Entune (requires iOS 6 or better) from my 4S. But I hope to steal my wife's LG G Pro running Android 4.1.2 (which it is highest it can go). According to Toyota OS , her LG E980 should have full use of all features. ANyone confirm that OS 4.1.2 plays well with Entune? Toyota - Entune We have Entune 2.2 and probably won't go to the dealer until our 1st 5K service (mid Jan.) *Due to greying out WiFi issue on 4S
When traveling the iPad is my podcast player. It's filled with Mark Maron interviews and Zino magazine subscriptions. iPhone 5 handles all the cellular duties.
U have the Premium Navi and Entune system. Entune in this system works over BT using A2DP and SPP. Here phone decodes the streamed audio and re-encode it to send over Bluetooth. Entune on the Display Audio system uses BT SPP for android device and USB iAP on Apple device. Here the streamed audio come in as pure data and the System decode and play back the audio. Not to digress any more this thread is about update on Entune in the Display Audio system.
We are keeping an eye out. I've let the local office know to reach out and ensure everyone at SC is aware of the update. Best, Erica
Has anyone else experienced idevice playback issues since updating to 3.1 or it is just me? I now have to replug my iPod touch every time I start the car or it will stop playing after few seconds.
A friend of mine couldn't get the dealer update his car claiming they don't have it....In NYC out of all places??? So, he emailed Toyota today and got a response that it is $169 plus labor.... Just shaking my head here.....LOL
Yes, I know, and that's what I told my friend. The point is that if Toyota themselves makes this mistake then I can see how the dealers can get it all wrong.
I have the HDD radio on my 2012 IV. How can I tell what version I have? The auto play drives me crazy grabbing songs from my cell phone. Thanks.
