Recently I have been doing a lot of highway driving with my 2007 prius. There is noticeably an excessive amount of wind noise at highway speed due to the gap between the front and back door.
after applying a piece of weather stripping from the hardware store, about $5 the wind noise is greatly reduced. this is my 1st post so please bear with me.

    That is great.

Another possible reason for wind noise is that the clear tape over the holes at the bottom of the two side mirrors comes loose.

With an almost 7 year old car the door seals can wear out, replacing them will help too.

The door seals are fine., wind noise went from a low howl to almost nothing at 70 mph. here's a picture of the product I used though I am sure any similar will achieve the same results.

You could just tape over the gaps and crawl in and out through the hatch. :p

There were no seals on that part of the door. At high speed the air enters the gap between the front and back door in the gap .I found the wind noise very annoying . After applying the weather stripping it fills the gap and there is no more wind noise. It worked for me with very little expense and about 2 minutes time. Can I get the same results with OEM for the same price and effort? just thought I'd share .

Looking at OP's picture ... How was the lower strip applied? A piece of tape attaching from behind the strip and the back door?

the weather strip I bought was a peel and stick . I'm sure you can just use two sided tape that can be bought at most auto part stores. Originally I bought the weather stripping to seal my front door. but it does make a noticeable difference.

The noise I get in my car seems to come from the mirrors.

because I can hear the wind whistling from them and they are about as aerodynamic as a sandwich.
