I used to repair fuckups like this done by shops that advertise $99 alarms with installation. This is an easy fix. The alarm installer should know better to never catch the door trigger wires at the dome light on modern cars. They will always come back with either the factory alarm triggering the aftermarket alarm or the aftermarket alarm triggering factory alarm. The nightmare started with Ford trucks back in the late 90's. Ever since then other auto makers follow suit. The domelight system got more and more complicated. Prius is an excellent example.
In order to remedy this problem the installer has to catch the trigger wires at each door pin and diode and isolate all the door pins from eachother. If the Prius's BCM sends a check signal to the door pins like the Fords then the installer must use a 2 diodes for each door pin to prevent the check signal feed back to the door pin and trigger the alarm. If not, then only 1 diode is used.
On top of the incorrectly installed door triggers, here's another test you can do to tell if the installer has installed the power door locks correctly. Safety precaution first, roll down the window and leave the SKS key outside of the car. With the door open, arm the aftermarket alarm then get inside of the car and shut the door. Now disarm the alarm. Does the door unlock? If no, then the installer screw up the door lock interface too. If the door unlocks then you're good to go.

    It is an Avital alarm.

The only problem is that the car responds to the presence of the fob in the same way that it responds to a door opening - by turning on the dome light. The installer has suggested triggering it from the courtesy lights, but as far as I can tell, there are no courtesy lights for the back doors. (the front doors and the hatch have them). So I'm left with a logical problem: what unique event occurs when any door is open, but does not occur when the car senses the presence of the fob. A truth table looks like this:

    Open door/Fob nearby
    True/False

    Dome light: True/True
    Courtesy Lights: Partially true/False

What I was trying to say is that the dealer lied to you about there not being a Toyota alarm system for your car and also about your trim level if they said you have a Prius One. Was not trying to upset you I hope you can get this problem solved it has to be annoying.

I drive with my headlight on all the time, they stay on for 30 seconds after the last door is closed unless I press the lock button on the fob twice, which then turns the lights of immediately. Doing that also disables the SKS. The only way I can get into the car ( without breaking into it ) is either using the FOB unlock button or using the key.

I'm thinking that maybe when the installer installed your alarm, something was missed. Installed correctly, any aftermarket alarm that was designed for the Prius should work with the SKS.

I see that this post is 3 years old, so this may be moot now, but you can program that out by using the TIS. Your dealer can do it, or you can do it yourself by buying a knock-off (only works on Windows XP). Hope this helps.
