When I took my 2012 Prius 2 in to have the tires rotated, the dealership could not get the maintenance light to go out. This happened once before, and it was a quick fix, but the service person that figured it out no longer works there. They tell me they followed the required procedure that works all the time. My car seems to have a different issue. Any help greatly appreciated.
Just a clarification, do you have a: 2012 Prius v 2 (station wagon) 2012 Prius 2 (liftback) or 2012 Prius V ( V as in five, liftback) You are in the v as in station wagon section (it will be exciting if they have sold another v in MS) http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM47674U/pdf/sec_04-02.pdf Page 2 of the PDF, page 354 of the manual)
Sometimes "maintenance light" means something different, eg a miscommunication. The first thing I thought was the tire inflation light which might be on since you had the tires rotated OR simply because the cold weather causes their air pressure to go down. The fix is to ensure the pressure is by the book, in this case the numbers on listed on the inside of the drivers side door jam. Regardless, if you are going to a Toyota Dealership and they can't figure this out, go to another dealership even if it means a drive. Sometimes incompetence knows no bounds.
