I sent the photo to the local FBI lab and they were able to locate the bumper guard. It is on the rear bumper's horizontal surface just below where the license plate goes. See enhanced photo below. It was the best they could do. You have to look really hard into the reflection. All that stuff they show on the TV about photo enhancement is pretty much BS. Man, just as I posted the above, FBI sent another photo and I think they've got it better this time.
Ok so I'm resurrecting an old thread but do you have pics of your contrasting colored moldings? I just got a silver C and want to add some flair - perhaps with moldings in a different color. Black comes to mind, or a slice of HabaƱero maybe? Related question: is there a simple way to preview what these color combos would look like? A Toyota or other car maker app for color decisions?
They do protect the doors. Mine came free with the car since I wouldn't pay for them and the dealer did not have any c3's without in my color.
Well depends on the door, door that has straight edge will protect from ding with body molding, but rear door on other people car has different height and those will dent and ding your door, fender, rear quarterly panel or wheel edge.... It is best to save the money for Paintless dent removal if it happens..
Hey Prius C Bros, were the body side moldings worth it and did they actually protect your door from scratches? I know it's an old thread but if anyone can please give some long term 4 year reliability update that would be pretty awesome. Case in point: I suffered a dime sized ding in my door because of a careless mom opening it and hitting a freezer and my C3 has all but 11,200 miles on it
Coming from someone who's Prius C has body side moldings, I like them but I'd probably never pay extra to have them. It looks good with or without them but i think it gives the Prius a more dimensional feel.
