My husband and I commute to work in a 2007 Prius several days a week on a very mountainous road. My concern is when it starts to rain, and the road has icy patches and some light snow, will the tires have enough traction to hold the road with water and possible icy conditions. Any recommendations for the kind of tires, size, brand and approximate costs? Would Costco have tires for these driving conditions? Our current tires are getting worn and will be buying replacements asap. Would appreciate any feedback.
i use 4 "Firestone winter force" tires up in Canada's winter weather. They are very good performers and good value. They are studable if needed but i have used studs. Good on ice and gets thru snow quite well. Inflated to 40 PSI front and 38 PSI rear. As you well know, winter tires are wise but nothing beats a cautious driver. Safe driving! Michael Canada
