The next day after purchasing the organizer you'll find some item which won't fit any of the organizer's compartments
It helps to keep stuff from sliding around and making a racket. Some stuff may not fit, but most of my essentials do...
One of the first accessory I bought. I like to keep my stuff organized and it's a worthy investment. Can't complain for $40 shipped.
I usually keep a tarp and a blanket under the cargo cover, which I use when carrying bikes or other dirty/sharp things. In addition to not fitting in an organizer, they expand to fill the space pretty well, so nothing else back there (which, admittedly, is not much) can slide around.
Good idea. If I put an emergency blanket there I can use it to cushion/wrap items in the compartment instead of using the organizer.
It is worth it to me. It keeps stuff from sliding around in the tray. I keep my hard copy manuals, a tool kit, flashlight, among other emergency type stuff.
Not worth it. Put a couple of old blankets/quilts in there. If you actually put stuff in there it will help keep them from sliding around and you also get the added benefit of always having a blanket for impromptu picnics, star gazing, or whatnot.
i lined my cargo tray with plastidip. it added a textured rubbery finish and prevents my small socket set from sliding around. i really like the blanket/tarp idea though.
I made a "Get Er Done" type of solution. Someday I should take a picture. But basically I just took some heavy cardboard and some black duct tape, and made compartments in my under trunk organizer. It really wasn't hard. This way I was able to measure out compartments to fit perfectly what I want to keep in that area. I also could make it less specific in some spots...just compartments of various shape...to hold any random new item that I might pick up. So far? So good. It works...and really doesn't look too bad. I used copious amounts of black vinyl duct tape and if I do say so myself it looks pretty good. If I ever want to adapt? All I need is a box knife....some more cardboard...and of course more black duct tape.
I have a Rola organizer. I saw it on this forum and thought it looked nice. Not the cheapest thing out there but works really well and is nicely built.
I have the tote that Toyota sells and take it with us whenever we go on road trips. It holds fragile objects, like wine bottles, and other loose "heavier" objects in place that the cargo net couldn't. Small enough to slide to the side and make room for our luggages. The Rola organizer looks like a nice investment for cross country road trips. As for the under-cargo organizer, if your main frustration is objects sliding around the space underneath the cargo floor cover and not really organization, then a simple blanket like others have mentioned will address your areas of concern. Stuff I have in my organizer: a 20 oz bottle of water, an LED flashlight, a roll of TP, Toyota emergency roadside kit, Toyota first aid kit, all of the bulbs I've swapped out (every 168s, H11s, H3s, dome, etc), screwdriver and socket/ratchet tool sets, my Detroit Red Wings fleece blanket, a beach towel and my entire OEM shifter unit.
I think what he OP is showing is the insert that goes under the hatch floor and above the spare. NOT a trunk organizer. So even though the headline is "Trunk Organizer" it is really the under the hatch floor insert. If you just want a trunk organizer there are a lot of options. For the price, I have repeatedly recommended this: www.harborfreight.com/trunk-organizer-65178.html
