We just got the 2013 PIP two days ago. Entune requires IOS 6. I am stil on IOS 5.0.1 because it works fine and I do not want to risk losing my WiFi which IOS 6 has done to some iPhones. So I Realy do not want to risk my iPhone's WiFi just to play with Entune to see if it is better than just going thru the phone. Actually, I need to connect my wife's LG G Pro to it. It will probably work with Entunes, as it is only a few months old. But still curious of wheter folks here use Entune or not. Do you prefer to use PIP Nav or Phone Nav? Personally, my two days use of the Navigation has been frustrating, but that may be my learning curve. But I was really frustrated trying to turn off nav for a long while on a drive, to find out later I needed to stop the vehicle to stop the voices ;o). (My learning curve). I dislike the iPhone native nav app and prefer to use MapQuest. SO turning on Mapquest While PIP nav was stilll on was TWO voices in m y head. O I do NOT care for this 'safety feature' of not being able to turn OFF the NAv while moving.
I have a 2012 Prius Four and use my iPhone 5, latest iOS (7.0.3) I use the Prius nav (though I have also used the iPhone nav once, successfully). Despite some dislike/hatred, I have been very happy with the on board nav system. As to Entunes, I use Pandora about 99.9% of the time. On Bluetooth, it works well. Sometimes have to fiddle with getting it started, but that happened from the beginning, with older iOS and an earlier phone. I can listen to an incoming text, but so far can not respond. On USB, using becomes more troublesome. I need to use BT even if getting power from car.
I have a 2013 Prius 3 w/entune and the 4s....I haven't been using entune that much because I have the Sirius free trial. Does anyone know if you have to have Bluetooth turned on if you're hooked up with USB as well? Also, I find that when I do hook up to use entune that I often forget my phone in the center console. Anyone have any tips for remembering your phone? lol
I'm a newbie, just got my Prius this week, excited to save some bucks at the pump. The Nav is nowhere near as good as google if you have an Android. That being said, it's nice that it's built in so as long as it works for point A to point B then it's worth it. I used the nav yesterday for the first time and it took me 1 block off my destination. Google knew where it was.
DA with Nav Unit - you don't have to have Bluetooth connected to use Entune. As long as your phone is connected over USB and Entune running you are good to go.
Thanks Z. I guess I overlooked that thinking it just meant stop the voice announcements. Yes this does stop/delete the current route request. Cool.
