Prius driver leads police on high speed chase

I just listened to the original news clip again. No where do they say the Prius was doing 120. Only that speeds of 120 were reached.

The person who wrote the text summary does say it was the Prius doing 120, but not the actual TV news story.

I can't believe it took this long & me to say it.

From what I remember, a speed limiting sensor (VSC?) was disconnected from the rear wheels to increase top speed. The downside was a burned out motor if traction was lost.

 

Why do you doubt the speed? my Gen II was faster than my Gen III. I broke 120 on interstate I-90 on my wedding day in 2008 with my 2006 GEN II. Top speed so far in the GEN III is 116 then it just sits there (govener maybe) not a rev limiter thats for sure. On a highway with no hills these cars can break 100 without a problem.

 

I used that to get out of a speeding ticket last month for going 52 in a 30, the cops told me how fast i was going and i looked at him and said "52? you do know this is a prius right?!" he gave me a warning.
