I have a 2013 Prius Plug-In and I was looking for the TPMS reset button but I spotted this thing. It's on the left side of the steering column and right next to the OBD plug. It has a button on the bottom side but nothing happens when I push it or push and hold on to it. Anyone know what it is? Turn off signatures in Tapatalk Tapatalk
Couple of questions: 1 Did you buy the car new ? 2 Did you ask your dealer ? It appears to be an add-on item. The Philips head screws into the plastic is a giveaway. Perhaps there was an aftermarket alarm system that the dealer or previous owner removed. Then again, it could be plug-in related. Check with the Plug-In community site . Someone there might have an answer for you.
That is part of the dealer installed alarm system. I have 2 screw holes in the same spot where the alarm accessory button was installed prior to my purchasing the vehicle from the dealer.
They sometimes install them in (all their) cars and remove just the controller if the closer doesn't succeed in selling it to you. I think this practice is BS as now you have a car with extra wires butchered into it's wiring harness. Avi
