I have a 2013 Prius Plug-In and I was looking for the TPMS reset button but I spotted this thing. It's on the left side of the steering column and right next to the OBD plug. It has a button on the bottom side but nothing happens when I push it or push and hold on to it. Anyone know what it is?[IMG][IMG]

    Couple of questions:
1 Did you buy the car new ?
2 Did you ask your dealer ?

It appears to be an add-on item. The Philips head screws into the plastic is a giveaway. Perhaps there was an aftermarket alarm system that the dealer or previous owner removed. Then again, it could be plug-in related. Check with the Plug-In community site . Someone there might have an answer for you.

It was a brand new car and no I didn't ask the dealer yet.

That is part of the dealer installed alarm system. I have 2 screw holes in the same spot where the alarm accessory button was installed prior to my purchasing the vehicle from the dealer.

That's weird. I didn't get any remotes or anything.

They sometimes install them in (all their) cars and remove just the controller if the closer doesn't succeed in selling it to you. I think this practice is BS as now you have a car with extra wires butchered into it's wiring harness.
