What the heck is this? Toyota Reduces 2014 Prius Plug-In Price - KickingTires "Toyota also says the 2014 model will be able to drive farther in EV mode, but didn't elaborate; the 2013 version can travel around 15 miles in EV-only mode." Right before the 4th gen coming out? I'm confused, is this true or false? First article I've read on this... Isn't the 214 coming out any week now?
in the first pragraph alone, you can see the poor reporting and mistakes adding up. "toyota is adding heated cloth seats and remote climate contro". base already has those, so, they are undoubtedly wrong about increased range as well. typical modern journalism.
I agree. The crappy reporting is everywhere. I believe what they mean by "go further in EV" is that it goes further in EV compared to the regular Prius.
if this is the case, I'd be so PO!!I just picked up a '13 last night. But you wonder why haven't Toyota released any info on the 14's yet...
They have a 2014 on the Prius V already on their site. No changes. Most likely not on the PiP either. They're not releasing any info because I'm guessing they're gearing up for a holiday event. Standard Price is going to be $2k lower. I can see the commercials now... Question is though, will they go away with the $4k cash incentives? Because otherwise YOU got the deal lol How do you like your purchase?
I actually leased it as the incentives are better at 5K plus 1500 CA rebate. But would still be very mad if say the 14's get 20 EV miles. But so far, I like the car!
With new technology, and even with old, new model years tend to bring improvements to the cars and lower prices. It is the nature of the beast.
Don't look back. You'll go broke trying to keep up with technology. Even good luck and timing is short lived.
For certain, no one leasing or buying now can go wrong. The rates and incentives right now transcend any deals offered in the future on a 2014. BTW the electric-only range is same. The only change to pricing is in the MSRP (lower by $2K in base) and the higher end model starts at $5000 over that, but will also offer a $2610 technology package to bring it to the level of a current 2013 Advanced. Tech package will make these items an option on the advanced: Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System, LED Headlights and fog lights for that $2610. So, the difference between the base and advanced, essentially, is Premium HDD Navigation with Entune App Suite (including Plug-in Hybrid Applications) and JBL, SofTex, trimmed heated front seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support, Heads-Up Display, & Safety Connect My advice? Grab that 2013 while you can!
