How many of you guys/gals have encountered this issue? I've always had the iPod interrupt the back up camera but this is a new one for me. My reverse camera today seemed to continue to work as I was driving forward. I put the car in Reverse then back in Drive and the camera continued to stay on. Powering down the car seemed to correct the issue.
I get occasional glitches in the switch-over from camera to display or vice versa. Sometimes the camera doesn't come on at all, sometimes I get black screen. It's rare, but usually if I do nothing it eventually clears itself up.
That's my take, the system is hanging for some reason. But it does seem to clear itself sooner or later. I notice it generally happens when I've first turned the car on and put it into reverse right away, so maybe the hang is in the boot process.
Gotcha. Not too big of a deal but weird indeed. I gave the info to Toyota so they can start looking into it if they hadn't already.
