How many MPG do you think is lost by adding 40 lbs to the cabin? Just curious... because then I might have to start a serious weight loss plan
A LOT. Those few mile trips you might do by foot or bicycle if you are in shape make a big difference Addendum for clarity: very short trips are hard on mileage. Try not to do them in a car.

If you were searching for new posts since your last visit, it's possible that there are none to show. this is all I'm getting.. i searched weight mpg, weight fuel economy, losing weight mpg. i think the search is kind of blah
I agree. Check out my sig, where I have a link that lets you search PriusChat using Google advanced search. It's way better than the built-in search of the forum software.
I am using a Palm application called "Prius Synergy Simulator". One of the variables one can change is the "load" factor. If you had one person at 150 lbs or 2 at 300 lbs the difference in MPG would be about a half mile per gallon. Not significant at all. You can get your own Palm simulator here. edit: of course you need a Palm Pilot to use this program.
I just have to wiegh in...he...he... I average 48-50mpg on tanks commuting to work and back. My commute includes another passenger who wieghs around 200lbs. I remember that I did get 55mpg once, but that was during the time when my passenger was on vacation, and I drove the same commute to and from work! I didn't change anything, like tire pressure or feathering either. So, I guess I can't wait until my passenger 'retires' soon! But then, my passenger is paying for more than half of the gas for our commute to work, so in that respect, I will loose once he does retire.
