Hi all, i'm not really new to this nice forum, but i got a Toyota Auris Hybrid 1 monthe ago, so i was wondering if i may post here, in which section or perhaps there is aurischat.com ??? :)
I wish to ask how to remove the transparent plastic cover of the trunk light (to put in a stronger one - led...), wanted some advice about mileage in the first kilometers and some other little things. Apart from this the car is very good.

For those wondering what an Auris hybrid is... Toyota Auris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But there are so many models and platforms and it seems to depend on country. So perhaps if you tell us the production year, the country of origin and the size of petrol engine we (or you) can compare them to this article and see what section would be most similar to your car.

I don't know of any Auris forums but a quick search turned up this site so maybe this could be useful?

Apparently you just use a screwdriver to pop off the cover. It shouldn't be any different from the light in our Prius. I use a screwdriver to pop off the plastic cover as well. Look for a slight cut in the plastic on one end where you may be able to insert the flatblade screwdriver.

Here there is a subforum "hybrid Toyotas", I think.
    Try this thread...

In the UK you have TOC Tideland just pointed.
Some of the Priuschatters, like myself, come from abroad. :)
    And in Portugal, prius-pt.com ...

Compact Toyota hybrid hatchback with the same powertrain as the Prius?

No, your car is radically different. This is a Prius site, for Prius people, we'll have no Auris here.

    ;)

Screwdriver: yes i tryed with a screwdriver but the transparent cover does not detach easly, or better, i had fear to break something so i did not apply too much force of leverage, as the plastic did in fact came away but the other black plastic around somehow began to be too much bent (at least for my senses....) so i thought that perhaps there could be some screw or dent or anything inside non visible and before to break something ask in this forum (which usually is populated by nice and experienced users - like hybrid drivers usually are... :)

Yes the subforum appears to be the right one for generic, presentation or similar topics, but i think deeper technical questions should be treated 'mixed' in prius forum because they cover the same engine-powertrain-etc. of a Prius.
Howewer i'll post there an see if someone answers.

Yes, you should use flathead screwdriver indeed. The process is described in the manual (available online too).
