I have a 2007 Prius with the 6 CD Changer, JBL speakers. I installed the USA Spec PA20-TOY that uses the connection for SAT Radio, one plug into the back of the radio for my iPod connection. Only had to remove glove box and right side vent to install. It disables the CD playing (never used it), but has pretty versatile control of iPod in glove box out of sight, steering wheel controls volume, song advance--touch screen changes to next folder, whether it's next playlist, artist, album, genre. I've had great experience and audio quality with the PA20-TOY. Had to drill out one of the holes in the back of the glove box to 1" diameter to run the cable through and avoid pinching. Did both for future additions. Used a couple 1 & 1/8" rubber grommets from Lowes to finish the hole. Module fits neatly in the compartment in back of glove box. Each of the six CD numbers on touchscreen controls a different function: 1 is Playlist, 2 is Artist, 3 is Album, 4 is ALL Songs on iPod (Don't use that one much), 5 is iPod Direct if you want to run the iPod cable out of glove box and manually control play; 6 is Genre. Some functions are disabled when driving, but still very handy. Screenshots attached. USA Spec website says this will also work with iPhone5 with a 30-pin to lightning adapter.

    Thanks for the great info!

I've been dying to figure out a decent way to play my phone's music via my 05 Prius.

For the past couple months I've been forced to listen to FM radio only... needless to say, it sucks.

I believe my 05 has the same radio as yours so I'm assuming it should be the same installation process?

(Just plug the USA Spec to the back of the radio unit?)

    Thanks!

Yes. One cable goes from back of radio to module. One cable from module in glove box to iPod. I used my cell phone to reach in and take a picture of the open connector spots on back of radio and matched it up to the cable I needed to use for my system. Pretty easy. I've watched a couple videos of people completely disassembling their dash and removing the radio just to plug in one cable. Really a lot of unnecessary pain and work. The sound is SOOOO much better than the aux cable input. Enjoy it.

I might have to pull the trigger on this one. Thanks.

Any way you can direct me as to where the connector exactly is on the back of the oem radio? I'm trying to find a pic of it online. Thanks for your help!

I went ahead and removed the register trim and took some more pictures. Open both top and bottom of glove box to get rim tool under edge of trim to get started. I didn't remove the cable, but one pic, cable with tape, wires running down, should give you a better idea where it's located. Need a trim tool to remove register, a 10mm socket and a couple extensions to remove bolt holding white wire harness behind the trim to move it just enough to get in. I forgot that step. I installed my iPod adapter about 2 years ago. The connection is 2nd from left as you're looking at back of radio. Pics attached. I think this wire harness probably has every wire in the dash running through it. BE GENTLE!!
