I've seen lots of prius with black rims. I haven't seen my style in black. I have a gold 05 and thought maybe black would look nice. Maybe that will mess up the value
most folks use plastidip, which can easily be peeled off if you need to remove it. never seen it on a prius, but several guys at work have done it to their rims.
I'll have to check that out and see where they sell that. If it peels off does it get hard enough to resist some scratches or does it dull really fast?
It starts dull. It seems to stick remarkably well under normal conditions, and it is easy to patch (just spray more). It is a thin coating of rubber essentially, and thus has different failure modes than paint.
Found this by googling "murdered out prius" - LOL Tommy Chong's (Cheech and Chong) Modified Prius - Toyota Prius Forum : Toyota Prius Forums
Buy a set of OEM take offs from a 2012+ Prius. They are black painted alloy wheels under that cheesy silver plastic hubcap. Then purchase a set of centercaps, or put some electrical knockout plugs in there and call it a day. SCH-I535
I just got done shooting my motorcycle with Black Acrylic from a GM color code. I have enough I think to do my rims to, I think they'll look good on my silver car, I just hate all the prep work.
