good job! you should go to prius c top mpg and post the pic. it will put you on the list above me but watchout the tank I have now I am over 80 mpg and about 60 miles. I want to get up to 3rd place. I have aired up my tires and I am making my trips a little longer when I can. If you post the pic. they like to know what size wheels, air pressure, AC or not, how you did it. things like that
When I bought my C the dealer gave me a $20 gas certificate and is it on a gas station close to the dealer. They had regular with %10 ethanol, averaged 36 mpg and like 240 miles. Refill with normal regular gas and help from this forum bump to 45 mpg , 350 miles 3 bars left on fuel gauge. A/C always on %80 of the miles really heavy traffic ( an hour and a half to travel 10 miles!!! ). Still a lot more things to do and learn!!!!!
Wow that is intresting to me. trafic that crawls at 7.5 mph with AC on and getting 36-45 I think that is really good! not sure about the gas w e10 vs reg gas. In oregon we only get e10 gas. I did notice that the mpg the car got at the dealer was really bad. I think less than 30 mpg. I am not sure how that first 58 miles was driven. I think mostly warm up then take out and seeing if the car had enough power to satisfiy the person test driving. anyway I get over 60 mpg on e10 gas
The very slow 10 miles in 1 1/2hr in hot weather reminds me of Haiti. lots of traffic and very slow or stopped then quick for 50 feet then slow again. running the AC and driving in that type of situation has to crush your mpg I think 36-45 mpg is great. but I do wonder what a regular car would do in that type of driving. gas or diesel! how many miles do you drive in a day?
I dont think it is that simple. I used to drive a 96 grand caravan with plenty of miles on it. I drove it in town almost all the time. my in town mpg went from 17 down to 13 mpg with the change to e10, we also drove a 99 surburban with 5.7 v8 the mpg stayed the same. I also tried preimum fuel in that suburban and got 0% better mpg. so that car didn't care. but my caravan sure did. 23% drop in mpg I remember thinking it would be better to just give me 90% of a gal of gas and quit selling e10, but in the other car e10 seems fine.
Around 50 daily. The traffic you discribe is exactly, without the jam you travel the same distance in less than 15 minutes. When we bought the C the FX was driven to the car wash and gas her up ( $65 with 1/4 left ). It's been 10 days and we have only used her once. It's funny because it feels so solid like a brick!!!!! Very fast and powerful!!! The C feels so light and nimble, very comfortable and quiet at 65 mph. In the FX when you feel comfortable you're going 90-100 mph
Before the Infiniti we had a 2010 Tahoe which was killing us in gas money!!!! But loved the dam thing!!!! Regular fuel produced a lot of knocking in the engine, had to use premium when the manufacturer says I can use regular. In the FX the manufacturer recommends premium for maximum performance. Used premium for like 6 months and ever so curious and with the prices rising decided to go regular. No nocking, same power, same mpg's, same milage
